April Fools Day: A Prank Too Far?

Fury erupted today in East Yorkshire when several national newspapers printed the Coca-Cola championship table upside down as an April Fool's day hoax.

The scam became apparent as fans of Hull City AFC noticed their team listed as being in 3rd position and only a point off the automatic promotion places.

"Typical fooking southern poncey media type trick," complained one supporter, who preferred not to be named.

Stray Photon (27) continued, "Everyone knows round this time of year we are usually involved in a struggle against relegation like. It's traditional, i'nt it? Them bloody Southerners are't taking that from us and all, are they?"

Coca Cola Championship: true positions

Meanwhile on the south bank of the Humber, Scunthorpe United supporters were planning a series of street parties to celebrate their impending promotion to the Premiership.

Next week: Spraying the Rays looks at other famous far fetched hoaxes starting with the Conservative party putting forward Boris Johnson as candidate for Mayor of London.
